Kimberly is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Federation of Professional Trainers. She is passionate about her faith, family, fitness, and helping others to reach their goals. She has spent the past 5 years writing and editing as well as co-creating workout and nutrition plans at the health and fitness website, Total-Workout-Routines.com.
She is a mother of three young children, ages 11, 8 and 2 years old. When her second child was 2 years old, she found herself out of shape and lacking energy that she desired to have in order to best care for her family. She decided it was time to make a change and signed up to complete a Tough Mudder competition with her husband in order to motivate her to stick with her fitness aspirations.
After joining the gym and working hard to prepare for that first fitness event, she was hooked. Her passion for fitness grew from there and over the next year she completed a 5K run, a 1/2 marathon and a Spartan race. She grew to love lifting weights in the gym and after successfully maintaining her new lifestyle for 2 years, she had lost 40 pounds of fat and gained a muscular physique. She decided to step out of her comfort zone and enter into a bikini competition, in which she placed 3rd. She and her husband built Total-Workout-Routines in 2012, offering the same workout programs he created for them to use in reaching their fitness goals, to the rest of the world.
While pregnant with her 3rd child, Kimberly was inspired to go into a career helping other women regain strong, healthy bodies after becoming mothers, and Moms Empowered Fitness was born. She has spent the past 2 years studying for her certification, rebuilding her body postpartum, and learning to balance fitness, nutrition, and home life with a toddler and school-aged children. She is continuing her education to become more knowledgeable about the physiological changes a woman’s body goes through during pregnancy and birth and recognizes the need for more specialized fitness programs that directly address the proper healing and care that women need postpartum.
Her passion is now in the area of helping moms rebuild their bodies so they can function well, and have the strength and energy needed to best care for their families. She also helps teach others about proper nutrition and how to balance family life and healthy eating so that the changes they implement can become positive lifetime habits. Her focus is on realistic, obtainable goal setting and helping mothers learn to prioritize their needs while still managing the other important aspects of their lives.
